Hey there, I am a proud new owner of my 2nd Mercedes.

(My first was when I was 16, it was a 1979 300?? It was purchased in germany and it did not have any markings on it, and it was all in german, and in KM and it was gas. Thats all I know. But I crashed it.... as all ungrateful youth do) Sad

I now currently have a 400SE, as a daily driver and project. She has about 123XXX miles on her and I have a couple questions.

1. The rear passanger window wont roll down. I can hear the motor working, its just not being pulled down? Do you think I could just open up the panel and get it back on track or is there more to it?

2. How do you use the air conditioning? I read the owners manual and it really doesnt say specifically how to to it.

3. The magazine for the 6 disc cd changer is missing, do you have a part # for it? It is an OEM changer.

4. Also the light on the dashboard indicating that there is a lightblub out is always on when I turn on the headlights, but I checked my blinkers, headlights and parking lights, high beams and fog lamps. None are out. Do you know what else could be out that is trigering the light to come on?

Oh p.s. I am a female owner, and I love cars. and I love mercedes.
I am just trying to get some answers.

Thanks Guys,

Maya

Hello 92 400se,

From the sound of your passenger window problem, it sounds like you would need a window regulator replaced. For the A/C, depending on the model, there would be a snowflake button to operate the A/C if not, it would you would have an automatic A/C unit and just have to set the temp and it should turn on automatically.
For the cd magazine the part number is 0028206289. For the lamp out indicator, try checking the license plate light, they usually are the ones checked the least.
